What a wonderful evening we had on Wednesday night! 28 of our children joined the Young Voices choir of 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham. The whole choir comprised children from many schools across the West Midlands and as the lights dimmed at about 7:15, we were plunged into a darkness punctuated only by the tiny lights of 5348 children. It was truly magical!

The children were joined by some incredibly talented acts, including MC Grammar and lead singer from strictly come dancing, Tommy Blaize. We also practiced our dancing talents alongside the ‘Urban Striders’ and enjoyed a 90s rave experience! Another highlight for me was was the artistry and skill of the choirmaster who was such an inspiration to our youngsters and worked with them for many hours with such energy.

The children had a fantastic time and were an absolute credit to Long Itchington CE Academy and of course, to all of their families. There were so many beautiful moments showing not only their talents, but also their solid friendships and it was a real privilege to be there.

Thank you so much to Mrs. Townend and Miss Riden for all of the hard work that they put into organising this event, but also to our amazing children for showcasing their talents in such a spectacular way! Well done to everyone!
