School Meals

Cooked Meals

We have excellent cooked meals here at Long Itchington!

We offer a choice of hot meals for Key Stage 1 and for Key Stage 2 on a three weekly rota.

Meals are paid for through ParentPay.

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a universal free school meal.  However, if you are eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant, your child will be entitled to a free school meal throughout their time at Primary School, please speak to Mrs Hine or the school office for further information on how to apply. This information is also included in your welcome pack and is freely available online.

Allergies

If your child has an allergy, please complete the form on this page and arrange to come into school to talk to us about it. We will also try to arrange a meeting with the caterlink staff but die to working hours this may not be possible. However, all information provided by you will be shared with them and all staff and midday supervisors to help keep your child safe. Medication training for all staff will also be given if applicable.

Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch on any day - we ask that no carbonated/fizzy drinks are included in this.

Please note pupils are not allowed to bring nuts, of any kind, into school, including peanut butter sandwiches. This is to protect children in school who have nut allergies.

Breaktimes

In Reception and Key Stage 1, children are entitled to a piece of free fruit/vegetable each day and pupils under 5 years old also receive free milk. Children over 5 years old can order milk for morning break through www.coolmilk.com. In Key Stage 2, children should bring in a snack of  fruit/vegetables. Chocolate, crisps or sweets of any kind are not permitted.

Drinks at School

Children should bring water in a named water bottle each day. Being well hydrated has been shown to help children’s brains stay active and alert. Water bottles are kept in the classroom and children are encouraged to drink regularly, especially after break times.  No squashes or juices are permitted.
