Collective Worship
Collective worship is an important part of our work and life in our wonderful school and we really enjoying gathering each day to celebrate all that is special about belonging to a church school.
Our collective worship is inclusive and invitational, enabling all of those in our school community to flourish and engage with their spiritual selves. Moments of quiet contemplation and reverence are an important part of our worship, but so also are the moments of unbridled joy and celebration. We love to sing regularly sometimes with technology accompanying us, but often with the local clergy members who can play guitar and the flute. We enjoy our own school song which can be heard at the top of the page. We also have songs which we accompany with signing - making them more inclusive and fun to learn!
Over a two year programme we share a variety of Christian values with the children which we explore in depth and through the teachings of the bible. These values also then link to our reward system in school, so that children can see how the teachings of the bible relate to them directly every day at school.
Our long term plan and our policy for collective worship can be found here:
There are also occasions when things come to our lives that we want to give deep consideration to in the context of God's teachings during collective worship. Perhaps events within the wider world, or particular issues that are important to us - collective worship also gives us a place to consider some of these issues and think about how we can help through God’s love.
