Sendco update letter

Dear Parents and Carers

I am writing to inform you of the upcoming changes to our SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) arrangements for after the half-term break. As you will all know, our current SENDCo, Mrs Doberska, will be going on maternity leave at the end of this month. While we are thrilled for her and her family, we are undoubtedly going to miss her expertise and dedication to our pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. However, I am pleased to announce that Mrs Moss will be taking on the role of SENDCo during Mrs Doberska's time on maternity leave. The transition of information and responsibilities is already underway, ensuring that Mrs Moss is fully up to speed and prepared to provide continued and consistent support for our SEND pupils and their families. Mrs Moss is in school full time and it is anticipated that her SENDCo work will primarily take place on Wednesdays. It is probably helpful for families to know that she does have a teaching responsibility on a Monday and Tuesday so there may be some delay if contacting her on these days. While Mrs Moss will be the main point of contact for SEND-related matters, I want to emphasise that your child's class teacher will continue to be the first point of contact for any questions or concerns. We are committed to maintaining a smooth transition and ensuring that our SEND pupils continue to receive the high-quality support they deserve. The SEND clinic will remain in place, and we will work diligently to balance Mrs Moss's workload to provide the best possible outcomes for our children. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about this transition. We are here to support you and your child throughout this process. Yours sincerely, Rebecca Richards Headteacher Long Itchington CE Academy
