New build opening event
Long Itchington Church of England Academy have been lucky enough this week to welcome lots of guests into school. We are fortunate having had an incredible building project which reached its completion on the last day of the summer holiday and was (just about) ready for us to begin using at the beginning of September. The project had been the culmination of an enormous amount of hard work for so many individuals and we are so proud of the results. The space is truly transformative and on Wednesday we enjoyed an official opening ceremony, where the school community was joined by the Bishop of Coventry, representatives from the DBE, parish members, families and lots of people from the DMAT central team. Thanks we’re given to all of those who have been involved as we look to the future in the next phase of our journey. We even had a special song composed for the occasion which children sang alongside live accompaniment and then enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. Long Itchington is a special place indeed and all of those who joined us this week saw the love that fills our school. The children, of course, were the stars of the show!
