Classes update for September 2024

10th June 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Class Arrangements for September 2024

We are now in a position to be able to confirm our class arrangements for next year and confirm some staffing changes. I am really pleased to announce that Mrs Moss has been appointed to be assistant headteacher. This was following a full recruitment campaign against a number of excellent candidates. Those of you that know Mrs Moss will know that she will give her all to this role and I am very excited to work alongside Mrs Moss to further develop our school. Mrs Doberska is also going to continue to lead on SEND and Inclusion. This will give her a significant amount of protected and dedicated time every week to oversee this area of work in school. This has made a real difference this year and has enabled her to meet regularly with parents and move things on with SEND. This needs to continue into next year so that we can sharpen our practise even further to ensure that our curriculum includes any necessary subject specific adaptations. Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Dimmock at the end of the year. We are really sad to announce this, as she has been a highly valued member of our staff team. Mrs Dimmock will be relocating over the summer so, unfortunately, we have to say goodbye. Mrs Kermode will not be class based next year – we have taken the decision that all of our in school cover, such as PPA and time for subject leadership would be best covered by a teacher, freeing up our TAs to support pupils in classrooms. Mrs Hannah Hill will continue to work with us across the course of the next year as a trusted supply teacher and we have been so thankful for all she has contributed this year, especially in Y4 and Y6. We have also recently undertaken a recruitment process with some very strong candidates and I am excited that this means that we have been able to increase our number of full time teachers.

Given all the information above, and taking into account teacher’s skills and prior experience, the class teaching arrangements for next year are as follows:

New Intake Reception Mrs. Katie Coleman (Mon, Tues, Wed am) Mrs. Gemma Townend (Wed pm, Thurs, Fri)

Year 1  Miss Ellie Riden

Year 2  Miss Madeline Kerry

Year3   Miss Lucy Simonett

Year 4  Miss Megan Russell

Year 5  Mr Harry Purewal

Year 6  Mrs Alice Moss (Mon, Tues) Miss Emma Howell (Thurs, Fri)

The children will have the opportunity to spend some time with their new teachers on 10th July so they can get to know each other. Miss Simmonett, however, is not able to attend on that day so will do her transition morning on 3rd July. We will offer a face to face meet the teacher session early in the Autumn Term and parents will obviously be able to meet the next teachers at the drop in open classroom on Monday 15 th July. As for the location of class bases, this will remain unchanged for Reception and Y1, but the Y2 pupils will be moving into the KS2 part of the building. All children in that part of the school will have brand new classrooms and Y2 will take the classroom currently occupied by Y3, with ascending year groups in adjacent classes through that part of the building. I look forward to the transition day and visiting classes to see the children with their new teachers. I have every confidence that all children will have a great morning and a great start in their new year groups.

Yours sincerely

Rebecca Richards
