Computing

The Computing curriculum at Long Itchington CE Academy will ensure that all children leave our school with a love, understanding and a deep body of knowledge for Computing and technology, and how these impact on the world in which we live. We believe Computing is essential to ensure we develop future generations who can contribute fully to society and the workplace.

Our curriculum is sequenced coherently using the Purple Mash Curriculum Scheme of work, so that our pupils will have the confidence and motivation to continue to further develop their skills into the next stage of their education and life experiences.  This is facilitated by providing quality digital equipment, age-appropriate Apps and software, laptops and iPads.

Our curriculum also places emphasis on teaching 'Online Safety' in line with current guidance.

Our vision is that

  • computing supports children's creativity and cross curriculum learning to engage children and enrich their experiences in school
  • all children will understand the importance of internet safety.  They will know the dangers and what they can do if they feel unsafe.
  • children will use all aspects of ICT to support their learning across the whole range of subjects.
  • our learners are prepared for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world
