Happy New Year and welcome back!
We hope that you have had a wonderful holiday and shared special family moments to treasure. Thank you again for all of our lovely Christmas gifts, we really appreciate how kind you are.
The children have come back excited to tell us what they have been doing and have settled well.
This term we will focus particularly on writing skills, from forming letters correctly to writing simple sentences using capital letters at the start, finger spaces and full stops.
Phase 3 will begin in phonics where the children will learn digraphs: ai, ee, igh, oa, oo(as in book), oo (as in zoo), ar, or, ur, ow, oi, er plus trigraphs ear and air. They will learn words with double letters such as 'bell' and the tricky words: was, you, they, my, by, all, are, sure, pure.
Our topic will be Fairy tales and Traditional tales including castles. We will also concentrate on the season Winter thinking about appropriate clothing and changing states of matter such as freezing and melting.
The topic web will be on the website for you to have a look at if you would like to.
P.E. will continue as before.
We look forward to seeing your children learn and grow in confidence as they flourish in Wren class. Thank you for your continued support.
