The Executive Board

The Executive Board of the Multi Academy Trust, fulfilling the role of both directors under company law and trustees under charity law, exercise the powers and carry out the duties of the Multi-Academy Trust. The Board of Directors are responsible to the Members of the Multi-Academy Trust as well as the parents, pupils and staff at the academies. Directors may also be known as governors of the Trust.

The directors are responsible for the three core governance functions – setting the strategic direction of the Trust and the academies within the Trust, holding the Headteachers to account and ensuring financial probity. Directors work with the local governing bodies to ensure the quality of education and financial management provided at each academy.

Two committees operate under the MAT Board. The Academy Effectiveness Committee monitors academy performance, Christian distinctiveness and pupil welfare. The Resources Committee focuses on finance, buildings and staffing issues.

The Local Governing Board (LGB)

Our team of Governors comprises a group of local people with a range of experience and expertise who are representatives of the local community.  Many have a thorough working knowledge of the school and make a point of spending time in the classrooms with the children and staff.  We attend training courses on all aspects of the curriculum and school management to ensure we have the necessary knowledge and skills to support the Head in the effective running of the school.

The Department for Education have high expectations of governing bodies. They are the strategic leaders of our schools and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education.

We feel that Long Itchington C of E Academy is privileged to have such a caring, well-resourced school with a highly skilled and enthusiastic teaching staff that creates a stimulating and exciting learning environment within a strong Christian framework. The happy atmosphere in the school and the enthusiasm with which the children approach their work, as well as the high quality of work achieved, makes us very proud of our school.  We have the greatest confidence in recommending our school to you for your child, and hope that you will come to experience for yourself all the good things we have to offer.
